Bangladesh Ambassador to France and President of the 43rd General Conference of UNESCO, Khondker M Talha, met with Bangladesh Foreign Minister and President-Elect of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Dr. Khalilur Rahman, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to a statement.
The meeting was held on August 25 and was described by the Bangladeshi side as a proud moment for the Bangladesh Foreign Service.
Khondker M Talha is serving as Bangladesh’s Ambassador to France as well as President of the 43rd General Conference of UNESCO.
In this capacity, he is representing Bangladesh at the international level while presiding over an important international forum such as the UNESCO General Conference.
Meanwhile, Dr. Khalilur Rahman is serving as Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister and has been elected President of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The UN General Assembly is a major international forum where countries from around the world participate in discussions. Being elected President of the General Assembly represents an important diplomatic responsibility for Bangladesh at the international level.
The fact that a Bangladeshi ambassador is serving as President of the UNESCO General Conference while a Bangladeshi Foreign Minister has been elected President of the upcoming session of the UN General Assembly has been described as a matter of pride for the Bangladesh Foreign Service.
The statement did not provide details of the issues discussed during the meeting between Dr. Khalilur Rahman and Khondker M Talha.
The meeting reflects Bangladesh’s growing participation in international organizations and its high-level diplomatic responsibilities on the global stage.
