Bangladesh Interim Prime Minister Tarique Rahman sent a message of condolence to the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on July 12 following the passing of the former Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
In his message, Tarique Rahman expressed his deep sorrow over the death of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and, on behalf of the Government and the people of Bangladesh, as well as in his personal capacity, extended his heartfelt condolences to the Amir of Qatar, the Royal Family, the Government of Qatar, and the people of the country.
He described Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani as a visionary statesman whose leadership transformed Qatar into a modern, prosperous, and internationally respected nation.
The message also noted that Sheikh Hamad's lasting contributions to regional peace, economic development, education, and international cooperation would be remembered with profound respect.
Tarique Rahman further stated that Bangladesh highly values its close and fraternal relationship with the State of Qatar, emphasizing that the longstanding ties between the two countries have been built on mutual trust, shared values, and enduring people-to-people relations.
Concluding the message, Tarique Rahman prayed that Almighty Allah grant the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani Jannatul Ferdous and bless the members of the Qatari Royal Family with patience, strength, and comfort during this time of grief.
