Four Civilians Injured as Myanmar Military Junta Launches Twin Airstrikes on Gwa Township

Arakan — June 24, 2026 - Four civilians were injured yesterday, June 23, after the terrorist Myanmar military launched two consecutive airstrikes using a jet fighter on Kan Kaw Taung Village in Gwa Township, Arakan State.

A jet fighter belonging to the terrorist Military Commission struck Kan Kaw Taung Village twice on the night of June 23—first at 10:18 PM and again at 10:27 PM—leaving four local civilians wounded.

The four injured victims from Kan Kaw Taung Village have been identified as Daw Hla Kay Thi (55), Ma Hnaung Thazin Htwe (19), U Chit Swe (52), and U Kyaw Win (60).

During the first airstrike, a bomb exploded near the village's Christian church, breaking Daw Hla Kay Thi's arm and injuring Ma Hnaung Thazin Htwe on her left hand.

The second strike at around 10:27 PM hit near the village school. The explosion left U Chit Swe with severe burn wounds on his head and back, while U Kyaw Win sustained injuries to his hip.

Additionally, the bombardments destroyed two residential homes and an ambulance, while also killing two cattle.

Similarly, today, June 24, at around 11:40 AM, the Myanmar Air Force dropped two bombs near the former Border Youth Development School in Aung Myay Bodhi Ward within Maungdaw Town, Arakan region.

These attacks follow a devastating aerial campaign on June 17 at around 3:00 PM, when the military junta deployed four jet fighters to bomb residential wards in Kyauktaw Town, public areas in Lanmadaw Village, a clinic, and a temporary market for nearly an hour. That attack resulted in 9 civilian deaths and left 18 others injured.
