A one-day photo exhibition titled “Silent Message,” showcasing the living conditions of people displaced by conflict in areas of Arakan where humanitarian assistance has yet to reach, is being held today, September 14, in Mae Sot, Thailand.

The exhibition features around 50 photographs, including images documented by Rakhine photographers themselves during their visits to different areas of Arakan.

The photographs document Rakhine traditional customs and cultural practices, as well as the daily lives and living conditions of people who have been displaced from their homes by the ongoing conflict.

According to information about the exhibition, the photographs were not taken solely in conventional displacement camps. Instead, photographers traveled to areas that have not yet received humanitarian assistance and remain beyond the reach of aid organizations to document the conditions of displaced communities.

The organizers said the exhibition aims to help people better understand the living conditions of displaced communities that have received little visibility and to encourage humanitarian assistance to reach areas where it is urgently needed.

Proceeds from the sale of photographs displayed at the exhibition will also be used to provide humanitarian assistance to displaced people in areas of Arakan that have not yet received adequate aid.

The “Silent Message” photo exhibition is being held for one day only in Mae Sot on September 14, with other activities also being organized alongside the exhibition.
