Tarique Rahman to Visit Türkiye in November to Attend COP-31

Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will visit Türkiye in November to attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP-31, which will be held in the country.

Bangladesh State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir disclosed the information during a meeting with Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Musa Kulaklikaya on the sidelines of the 23rd OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on August 27.

During the meeting, representatives from Bangladesh and Türkiye exchanged views on various regional developments and discussed issues of mutual interest between the two countries.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the existing cooperation between Bangladesh and Türkiye and shared their interest in further expanding cooperation in trade, investment, diplomacy and other key areas.

The two sides also emphasised the importance of taking bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Türkiye to a higher level.

Humayun Kabir informed the Turkish deputy foreign minister that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman would visit Türkiye in November to attend the upcoming COP-31 conference.

Tarique Rahman’s visit is expected to provide Bangladesh with an opportunity to present its climate policies and interests at the global climate conference, while also creating scope for further expanding trade and investment relations between Bangladesh and Türkiye.
